Mt Salem Children's Shelter

"Whatsoever you do to the least of them, you do to me" - Mathew 25:40

What is it?

MSCS is a tool in God's hands to change the lives of hurting children in Manaus, Brazil, in the heart of the Amazon region.

Who are they?

His work for Youth with a mission (YWAM) in Manaus, Brazil brought Don from America to Brazil 25 years ago. While working at YWAM together, Don and Terezinha, a native of Brazil, saw a need for a shelter for children in 1999, after the realization that 70% of children in their primary schools had been abandoned by their parents. The Ammermans have four children of their own, and are parents to many more.

What do they do?

Mount Salem promotes the well being of the children in Manaus, through a facility that offers housing, education, recreation and spiritual developement.

Why do they do it?

Mount Salem desires for these children to grow into responsible citizens who will impact their communities in positive ways.

What is Colorado Scaffolding's role in Mount Salem?

The company supports the Shelter out of the revenue, net profit or not. Besides that, Colorado Scaffolding sells Brazilian coffee in-house, which feeds one child for one week.
